Short-Term Contracts

Mallard offers short-term hourly and project contracts for clients who are only interested in a one-time review of their financial situation, or who have specific questions they would like addressed. These are priced according to the complexity of the project and the staff involved. The hourly rate typically ranges from $200 to $250. Or, we can structure our work with you as a project, with a set flat fee. Projects typically range from $750-$2,500. Each short-term contract describes the proposed analysis and deliverable. It’s tailor-made to fit your needs.

Ongoing Investment Advisory Contracts

Mallard offers investment advisory contracts for clients who are interested in developing an ongoing investment relationship. We have 4 different investment advisory contracts: RetirementGPS, Nonprofit, Gold, and Platinum. Each is designed for a different type of portfolio.

Gold and Platinum Services

  • Comprehensive Financial Planning, including 2 face-to-face meetings per year, if desired.
  • High-quality management of your investment accounts.
  • Tax and cost-efficient investing.
  • Asset allocation tailored to match your return/risk goals.
  • Quarterly investment performance reports.
  • Investment Policy Statement (IPS) customized to your needs.
  • Incorporation of accounts at multiple custodians.
  • Quarterly newsletter and access to our quarterly market-update conference call.

Platinum

Platinum contracts provide you with all of the Gold Level benefits plus these additional benefits:

  • Expert advice regarding individual stocks, bonds, options, preferred stock, etc.
  • Face-to-face meetings, as needed.
  • Coordination with your other advisors (attorneys, accountants, etc.).
  • Ad hoc specialized portfolio review.

Platinum contracts are well suited for portfolios of $400,000 or more and portfolios with individual stocks. Management fees are calculated as a percentage of the Assets Under Management (AUM) in your portfolio at the end of the quarter. Fees are calculated using tiers, subject to a $1,000 quarterly minimum charge.

Gold

Gold contracts are well suited for portfolios of $200,000 or more and portfolios without individual stocks. Management fees are calculated as a percentage of the Assets Under Management (AUM) in your portfolio at the end of each quarter. The annual fee is 0.80% of the AUM, subject to a $400 quarterly minimum charge

Assets Under Management 

Below is the fee rate for our Platinum and Gold services (P/G%), for various portfolio sizes.

First $1,000,000 – 1.00/0.80%

Next $2,000,000 – 0.80/0.80%

Next $3,000,000 – 0.60/0.80%

Next $4,000,000 – 0.40/0.80%

Amount Over $10,000,000 – 0.25/0.80%

Nonprofit 

The Nonprofit Contract is only available to IRS-certified 501(c)(3) organizations.  Our discounted fees are 0.50% to 0.60% of the Assets Under Management (AUM) depending on the portfolio’s complexity, subject to a $50 quarterly minimum charge. RetirementGPS™

RetirementGPS™ is designed for retirement accounts, which are tax-deferred. Management fees are calculated as a percentage of the Assets Under Management (AUM) in your portfolio at the end of the each quarter. The annual fee is 0.60% of AUM, subject to a $31.25 quarterly minimum charge.
